In 2018, CNN published:
'In the closed-door remarks, a recording of which was obtained by CNN, Trump also praised China's President Xi Jinping for recently consolidating power and extending his potential tenure, musing he wouldn't mind making such a maneuver himself.
"He's now president for life. President for life. No, he's great," Trump said. "And look, he was able to do that. I think it's great. Maybe we'll have to give that a shot some day." '
When we hear such weird things, we should hear our inner voice shout "En garde! Prêts? Allez!"
Throw-away lines praising dictatorship are anything but. These are intentional evil messages at moments of high public attention.
Carefully aimed big bombs that can level whole city blocks.
Similarly, when we hear ordinary people all start saying the same weird wrong things, where they all open their mouths and the same toads hop out...
Those are the cluster munitions.

I hear you. I'm scared too.
Sometimes, I try to encourage myself by saying,
"Well, in the past there have been better people than me, facing situations worse than I face, and they kept going."
So I try to keep going.
