I wonder how much is just straight demographics. I.e. More older members died than newer members joined.

@gwendolenau I think it's more than demographics. What research about this dechurching matter is showing is not just that older church members are dying and there aren't younger ones to replace them, but younger people are, in increasing numbers, deliberately walking away.
