I just posted this valuable statement by Noah Berlatsky on Facebook, and Facebook immediately took down the posting:
"It may not be safe to remain friends with MAGA. Trump voters have told you they will hurt you. It’s reasonable to believe them. …
I’m not saying everyone in every case has to cut their MAGA family out of their life. Different people are in different circumstances; you can’t make blanket rules."

"But what I am saying is that, if you have MAGA relatives or friends, you need to evaluate your relationship not just on the basis of the ugly choice they made in the past, but on the basis of what that ugly choice says about what they might do to you in the future."
"Just so we’re clear — the rule is that these people are allowed to despise us; to insult large groups of people on the regular; to demand that transgender people be pushed out of public society for their own comfort; to talk gleefully about how they can’t want to watch ICE agents pull grandmothers from their beds and deport them;"

"to — again, because this deserves repeating — shout
'YOUR BODY, OUR CHOICE!' at women and girls'; to call Puerto Rico a pile of garbage; to denigrate women who don’t have children; to repeatedly claim that 'liberalism is a mental disorder'; to talk about how they voted for Trump to punish us; to regularly claim that Black people are lying about the existence of racism and police brutality, to force their religion on us, and so forth!"
"Question of if/when Republican family/friends should be shunned by those who will be directly harmed by their support of Trump—and the fact that the possibility infuriates Republicans so much—comes down to this simple fact:
Bullies need victims. But victims don’t need bullies."
~ A.R. Moxon
"[Jesse Watters] says that, after last week’s election, [his mother] has disinvited him from Thanksgiving. We hope that isn’t a bit, and we hope it isn’t performance art, because one of the few things giving us true joy right now is hearing MAGA Nazis cry because they’ve lost the love, support, and acceptance of their families after voting for Donald Trump. They sure do hate the 'find out' part of 'fuck around, find out.'”

@wdlindsy Let them bully each other.
@carfreesince93 I'm not really clear on who "them" is in your statement.
@wdlindsy the bullies!
@carfreesince93 I see. I think the point that A.R. Moxon is making is that MAGA thrives on bullying, but no one has an obligation to feed themselves to MAGA — by continuing to associate with those folks — as a victim.
@wdlindsy Seems late. Maybe Mom realized she didn't know who she raised, all this time. Sad.
@Dhmspector @timo21 I hear you. She sounds like a person I'd enjoy meeting.
@wdlindsy I already see this happening with people I actually know,
@wdlindsy Good morning, William.
Talking of women/bodies, etc., have you seen this?
@wood5y I hadn't seen it — thank you so much for sharing it, Steve. I look forward to reading.
@wdlindsy My pleasure.
Have a grand day. :)
@wood5y Thank you. I wish you the same.
