At this point any jilted lover, disgruntled neighbor, grant competitor can claim participation at a protest be it Tesla or genocide in GAZA and Greencard holder or any other valid visa can be revoked snip like that and start a journey of fear and terror through weeks of detention.
This is lawlessness.
Let alone that even lawful participation in protest or writing an op-ed will get you dehumanized, without warning, without due process.
The US is not safe for non-citizens. Period!

@wdlindsy Ummm, where is Harvard U in all of this? Are they actively supporting her while in detention and working tirelessly to effect her release?
I would be very disappointed to learn that they are doing nothing while a staff member is detained.
@wdlindsy Academics need to think of the US now like Germany after the Restoration of the Civil Service.
Strongly discourage them from coming to the US for conferences or taking any new positions at institutions here. Try to get friends out. Try to find them jobs someplace safe.
As an American it make me so deeply sad, but the flow of academics to the US needs to stop and start again in reverse.

there is no evidence these people are police, it's clear now all a gang has to do is dress like this & they can take young women (or anybody else, but i predict they will focus on women) right off the street in broad daylight

i think i heard on the audio one dude did say, "You don't look like police" but one dude squeaking up isn't enough against a gang of people, the whole street should have surged forward
