ftg<p>This C-band LNB is a bit crusty. But might even work!<br>Should be usable for seeing 3.4GHz stuff on the spectrum analyzer, even if the DRO in this thing is not super stable.</p><p>Has anyone converted these to 5.7GHz?<br>The LO is 5150MHz<br>Shouldn't that just be ripping out or replacing some filters?</p><p>I wonder if it would upconvert with sane effort.<br>Gain is much cheaper and less fiddly on 3.4GHz and 5.7GHz than 10.3GHz. </p><p><a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/cband" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cband</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/3400MHz" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>3400MHz</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/9cm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>9cm</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/6m" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>6m</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/5760MHz" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>5760MHz</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/microwaves" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>microwaves</span></a></p>
ftg<p>I also got two "full" C-Band LNB's that I should test.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/cband" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cband</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/hamradio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hamradio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/3400MHz" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>3400MHz</span></a></p>
ftg<p>The test setup looked like this.<br>All SMA's were properly torqued down as well. </p><p>Oh well, looks like might have bought a project instead of a transverter. </p><p><a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/hamradio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hamradio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/microwaves" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>microwaves</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/3400MHz" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>3400MHz</span></a></p>
ftg<p>That does not look right at all.<br>23dB attenuation in between the transverter and spectrum analyzer.<br>The attenuators are specced to 6GHz and 11GHz, so no problem there either. </p><p>TX gain maxed out and hitting the transverter with +20dBm on 144MHz and this is what I get.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/hamradio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hamradio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/9cm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>9cm</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/3400MHz" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>3400MHz</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/microwaves" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>microwaves</span></a></p>
