Minister of "Citizen Protection", Takis Theodorikakos, posts that #Greece PM, Kyriakos Mitsotakis announces a 600eur bonus for all cops and coast guards. "The State thanks and rewards those who protect its borders with daily self-sacrifice ".
This announcement comes only a few hours after the news that cops shot in the head yet another teen, 16-year-old Kostas #Fragoulis, who is currently in critical condition. And one day before the protests against police violence and in commemoration of the murder of Alexandros #Grigoropoulos by cops, on 6th December 2008. #6dec
Protests have already taken place in #Athens and #Thessaloniki (where the shooting took place). In Thessaloniki the protest has been brutally attacked by the cops and the city center filled with tear gas.

#Fragoulis is a #Roma young man and is the second youth that is persecuted and shot in cold blood since last year; when on 23 October 2021, 18-year-old Nikos #Sampanis was shot and killed by cops during a car chase. #Racism against the Roma is rampant in the Greek society and for fascist racist cops it is much easier to violently attack and shoot members of the Roma community without any (legal or otherwise) repercussions.
