I saw so many exciting things today at #NAMM! I got to hear the new Level-Loc plugin from Korneff. It's stunning! If you're thinking, ”I’ve already got the Soundtoys Devil-loc, isn't this the same thing” -- my reply is that this blows the Soundtoys plugin out of of the water. I've used Devil-loc on probably 80% of my mixes and this sounds so much larger and 3D, and that's just the default state. They've also modeled a bunch of circuit mods that Tchad Blake likes, added filters for the sidechain, and more! Best of all is the 9V power emulator, which let's you set how far the battery has drained! You can even automate it.

It just sounds incredible!

Woah, Waves is coming for SynchroArts Vocalign!! Check out their new Sync Vx:

I really love how Vocalign & Revoice Pro sound (compared to Autotune/WavesTune/Melodyne), which is why I've increasingly relied on the SynchroArts suite for most of my vocal aligning and pitch correction. On the Donda record, I was the sole engineer *not* using Melodyne, but my edits sounded much cleaner -- and I worked on some of Ye’s leads!

However, SynchroArts is hella buggy, and Revoice is really unintuitive to use. If Waves sounds as good as their demo video, I'd be happy to switch and never look back. Or maybe Revoice Pro 6 will be a game changer and keep me as a loyal customer.
