It's Richie<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@toddalstrom" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>toddalstrom</span></a></span> </p><p>Could someone explain a hypothetical.</p><p>If Vance were to join mastodon by comparison, assuming a similar desire to block from so many users, how differently might this play out based on the way that federation works within an Activity Pub context.</p><p>Just trying to understand the practical nature of the two protocols as applied to this case.</p><p>From what I understand of ATProrocol all that folks blocking achieves is it filters that account off for that user but otherwise the account can roll along just fine to other users. Correct me if I’m wrong here also. fromjason.xyz ❤️ 💻<p>The problem with <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Bluesky" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Bluesky</span></a> is they came to be during a time when decentralization was en vogue, so they decided to just be that. </p><p>But, it's marketing. </p><p>Ten, fifteen years ago Bluesky would've branded itself as "modular" or having a robust API like App dot Net. </p><p>They want to be the internet's common infrastructure. Of course they do. What for-profit company wouldn't want that?</p><p>I maintain that <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ATProtocol" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ATProtocol</span></a> is interesting. But it's not a noble pursuit. </p><p>Anyway, I deleted my BS account.</p>
