Holy shit folks!</p><p>The Department of Health and Human Services is considering a rule that would remove gender affirming care from the list of Essential Health Benefits (EHB) from the <a href="https://beige.party/tags/AffordableCareAct" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AffordableCareAct</span></a> provisions, which means any health insurance connected to the <a href="https://beige.party/tags/ACA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ACA</span></a> Marketplace (such as <a href="https://beige.party/tags/medicaid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>medicaid</span></a> cannot cover GAC beginning in 2026.</p><p>Furthermore, it also penalizes states that do mandate GAC as a EHB by forcing them to reimburse health insurance groups that cover GAC.</p><p>All federal agency rule changes must first pass through a public comment and review period, with all public comments being mandated by law to be attached to the documentation of proposed rule changes.
