Dave Rahardja<p>Today I disabled the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/AlwaysOnDisplay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AlwaysOnDisplay</span></a> on my <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/iPhone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>iPhone</span></a> 14 Pro. I thought I would enjoy having information visible at a glance on the display, but the UX as implemented caused me to pay *too much* attention to the phone while it was locked and showing no useful new information.</p><p>Since I usually leave my phone within eyesight near my computer while I work, the added distraction that AOD caused was causing me noticeable stress each day.</p>
