Nein? Doch! Oohh ...
"Kurz nachdem der Bericht von Local Mess am 3. Juni 2025 online gegangen war, stellten #Meta und #Yandex ihre Aktivitäten plötzlich ein.
Bisher ohne öffentliche Erklärung. Das heißt, dass momentan keine weiteren Informationen über #Android Nutzer gesammelt werden."

PC-WELT · Diese Tech-Giganten spionierten Millionen Android-Nutzer jahrelang ausBy Laura Pippig

Sammelklage gegen #Google:

Futurism · Google Going to Trial After Doing Something Super Sketchy to Android UsersBy Joe Wilkins

Watching WWDC. All the new iphone/watch features they announced, I consider them totally frivolous. Invasive, over the top via the AI, and complex to navigate since most stuff are hidden behind gestures and special circumstances.

I absolutely hate that UI. It's just too much, bro.

Not that Android is better.

I like simplicity. How things used to be ~10 years ago UI-wise. Only a few new features since then are useful.

Samsung Galaxy A34 gets the One UI 7 update!

We are excited to announce that starting from today, users can now download the One UI 7 update to their Galaxy A34 smartphones as Samsung has finally released this exciting version of One UI. Your Galaxy has now become more powerful, amazing, and gorgeous as One UI 7 brings more powerful features and a redesigned appearance consisting of a simple, impactful, and emotive design.

Currently, this update is only live in Korea, but it should roll out to other countries, starting from Europe, USA, and Canada, next week.

Please refer to news sources, such as SamMobile and Sammy Fans, for more rollout news for further devices (we will only cover A55, A35, A25, and A05 [A04e, A04, and A04s are not eligible]).

The firmware information states:

  • Galaxy A34: DYE7

You can see the overview of what One UI 7 brings in the above linked article at the bottom section. Meanwhile, you can see a two-minute video trailer for One UI 7 highlighting its biggest features here.

https://youtu.be/P4AEIu3V6F4

To obtain the update, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Navigate to Software Updates
  3. Tap on Download and Install
  4. Wait until you see One UI 7 at the top of the page, then tap on Download
  5. Wait for the download to complete, then tap on Install

After you perform the above steps, your phone will be running One UI 7 based on Android 15, and you can enjoy its new features and with many improvements on place. This makes sure that your experience gets improved.

If you still didn’t get the update for your device, wait for a few days or a few weeks, then check for updates again. If you still see “Your software is up to date,” this means that the update didn’t reach your region yet.

Note that the update process may take 15 to 20 minutes, and this can vary from device to device. The download process may incur extra charges if you’re using the cellular network as the update size is around 5 GB, depending on the device, so we recommend downloading it through Wi-Fi. Never interrupt the update process in any way, or problems may occur. Make sure that your phone gets charged before you initiate the installation process.

I found out it is harder to publish an app to the Play Store than is is to publish an app to the App Store. To publish to the Play Store you need 12 testers. Does Google know how hard it is to make friends?

If you are on #Android want to try out a super simple #map app with a gorgeous map of the Netherlands (map5topo.nl), DM me your e-mail and I will add you as a tester.

When was the last time you have played with KDE Connect?

You've never heard of that? Let me enlighten you. KDE Connect is a suite of very handy Network tools, to get the maximum out of the transfer and the control of data & programs between your KDE computer and your Androids.

It is in fact so versatile that even if your KDE computers are not connected, you can still do a lot of things between your Androids which are running the network software suite.

There are so many things you can do you should just download it yourself and put it on your Androids

A few highlights are transferring files between your devices in a transparent manner where no company like Google can snoop anything

Controlling media players from 1 device through all the others.

Getting notifications between different devices and even getting output, graphical output from different devices on others.

Controlling your Android with a mouse from a KDE Connect computer

The list goes on

Note:
If you're running a Linux distro with a running firewall, you have to make sure that your firewall has all the ports open for KDE connect. There are examples of the ports needed, in the docs.
I also have them {for {g}ufw}
