For the month of June (Pride) this independent, disabled artist is having a sale on my "The Reclamation of Terra" artworks. A massive discount of 25% off means you'll be grabbing art with a heart for a bargain. Sale price has already been applied so all you have to do is buy it.

Why buy my wares? This series revolves around the rainbow community and the solid work we do when we unite. Each canvas features one of my landscape images and a representation of a particular pride flag. Each canvas represents a colour of the progressive pride flag.

Each image is also available for purchase (also 25% off), so why not buy a companion piece with your canvas of choice. Hurry, there's very limited stock!

Art is my work, so buying from me means you're supporting a queer trans artist directly which is a great way to support the community this Pride Month.

Thanks to Tom Noble for the piccy of me with a few of the paintings taken at my Gala exhibition opening.

Happy Photography Friday friends.

Not exactly photography this week, rather something I'm creating. A whole series intended to put the viewer in the centre of the landscape I've photographed by using mirror pieces.

The ingenue will appear at the Counihan Gallery, Brunswick, Naarm on Saturday 9th August. Put a pin in the date as I'd love to see you there.

Happy Photography Friday friends, my recent Out Doors Inc adventure went, amongst other places, to Mooroolduc quarry. I like that it has been turned into a nature haven, & the local kids must like it too, given the graffiti.

I am in Tyabb hiking along the coast for a few days 😍. This is part of an adult camp through Out Doors Inc. If you're in Naarm and on the NDIS, I highly recommend them. (I am a participant & in no other way affiliated with them)

Now that the ink is dry on my new Service Agreement I can now announce that I have been hired to curate the Maker Space exhibition. The contract covers work to be undertaken for Arts Access Victoria’s Future Reset – Maker Space Program from June 2024 to December 2024.

Maker Space is a series of online and in person visual and digital arts workshops designed to help 18-25 year old youths (at my age I'm calling them youths!) learn new skills and give them resources to create new works and new friends with the opportunity to showcase new works at the end of October (which is my job to curate!).

Arts Access Victoria (AAV), currently celebrating 50yrs, is the peak body for arts and disability in Victoria (in so-called Australia).

It is thrilling to work for a disability-led organisation that plays a vital role in state, national and international discourse, platforming the work of Deaf and Disabled artists, arts workers and creatives.

As many of you may know, my multimedia series, "The Reclamation of Terra" was largely created in the Arts Access studios - an AAV studio in Merri-Bek I've been practising my own craft at for 18+ months.

I am so grateful to CJ and the stellar team for asking me to come on this journey. As a proud queer, trans, disabled human I can't wait to champion young voices emerging in the art world.

It's official - I'll be one of the photographers for the National Breast Cancer Foundation at their Mother's Day Classic event on the 12th May, starting from Alexandra Gardens and running round the Tan (Naarm).

This is an event dear to my heart as my ma, both her sisters, and her ma, have all experienced breast cancer (some more than once). It is truly an honour to be donating my services once again to this memorable event.

Oh Mother, giver and taker of life, how I missed thee.

The last few months of photographing events and organising my own exhibition have been hectic & I've naught had time to visit.

Today was my first photography adventure in three months and She didn't disappoint (she rarely does). 4 lyre birds, a wallaby, an abundance of birds, and a sensational sunset.

My heart is full to brimming.

For those that missed out on seeing me with my art on Thursday, I'll be popping into the gallery for an hour tomorrow (subject to a neg covid test) from 11:15am. Feel free to ask me any questions whilst I'm there. I will be masked & encourage you to be the same.

Victorian Artists Society, 430 Albert St, East Melbourne.

Tonight's the night - a celebration of community unity. My Gala Exhibition Opening - The Reclamation of Terra.

I have partnered with Environment Victoria for the two weeks the exhibition is running. 5% of all sales between 25th January and 5th February will be donated to this amazing grassroots local, state, & national environmental organisation. ❤️

Please remember, if you have sniffles, graciously see the exhibition another time. Forgot your mask? No worries, n95 masks will be provided at the venue.

For access, performers, and audio descriptions, please head to my website.

Hello folx, another way for y'all to support the work I do, is purchase this calendar. I usually only print it & gift it to family, but I just looked over my exhibition budget and to pay my artists, pay for Auslan interpreters, Welcome to Country, & meet my targets, I still need $300-$1300.

Obviously, unless 25+ people buy a calendar, I'm still not going to meet my minimum budget, however, it may make a nice present for yourself or gift for someone else.

They are print-on-demand through Vistaprint (I've printed them and they are good quality). They are 200gsm thick. Currently they print for $12.37 with the discounts I'm being offered + postage, but I am asking for $35 & I will absorb postage across so-called Australia. Orders must be requested before 15th Dec to be received before THAT date.

Some white angry boomer online replied to a video about dsp dropping to $950 (he did the maths based on what the poster had said) if you live with a loved one: "if you can't live on $950 a week there is something seriously wrong with your spending.

So I lovingly explained the reality of having to take multiple life saving medications without a concession card (mine would cost approx $600 a week, which I acknowledged was on the low end of the spectrum), plus rent, mobile, water, electricity, and food.

I know a lot is going on, what with the multiple genocides across the globe; the refusal to grant First Nations rights in so-called Australia; conversion therapy still a thing & being used on queers and trans people in NSW; accessability still not a priority for most businesses, etc etc, but I am doing a thing and that thing costs money.

I have been saving for two years for a new waterproof camera that will allow me to take on more work and be slightly less reliant on my disability pension, but because I believe in community unity, the strength of the LGBTQIA+SB family, and have a burning passion to reverse climate devastation, I'm putting those savings into my upcoming gala exhibition opening in January 2024 that celebrates all those things.

Please donate whatever you can spare. It's tax deductible if you're an Australian citizen. $2, $200, $2,000 🤣 absolutely anything. And please boost.

I have enough savings to pay for the gallery space for two weeks, and all print & exhibition materials, but I still need funds for access, Welcome to Country, paying the performers, snacks and beverages.

On my way home from the neurosurgery clinic at the Alfred Hospital (Naarm). As expected, the bulge at the c4/5 and resulting lack of spinal fluid requires a ct guided nerve root injection. I'm OK with this. I had three for the same issues at the c5/6 before getting surgery because the last two were useless. Here's hoping the injection gives me sweet pain relief and that it is long lasting this time around 🙏🏼. I have an indeterminate wait for the appointment. 👍🏼

Went to the opening of Living Colour tonight where my sculpture from my series "The Reclamation of Terra" is on display amongst amazing artworks as part of this Brunswick Uniting Church exhibition which is on until the 22nd October. Then just as we got home the skies parted enough to share its colour with us. ❤️
