In 2016, my daughter, Jessica, died from an accidental drug overdose after years of struggling with borderline personality disorder (BPD). Her painting, “My Iron Lung” (2015), and my National Park photograph, “Dead Blue Jay (2016), will be jointly exhibited. Both works were specially requested by Cameron Le Roux, the exhibition’s coordinator at Mount Sinai. Details: xiomaro.com/event/brain/

Hi, I’m Andrea 🌱

I write from the intersection of memory, reading, neurodivergence, and what often feels like emotional overflow. I’m interested in the crossroads between migration, feminism, and mental health.

I come from other platforms hoping to find a gentler space here—to share books, ideas in progress, and reflections on living with BPD and OCD.

If any of this resonates with you, I’d love to connect 🌸

"Of all the personality disorders, the Borderline Personality Disorder is of most concern for clinicians. Specifically, many clinicians believe that this disorder is untreatable, and this belief persists despite research evidence to the contrary. In fact, more research has been published on this disorder than any other personality disorder, and increasingly it indicates that this disorder is quite treatable. For example, Zanarini and colleagues (Zanarini, Frankenburg, Reich, & Fitzmaurice, 2010) followed nearly 300 individuals prospectively over a ten-year period. They found that one half these individuals achieved total recovery. That meant that they no longer met diagnostic criteria for this disorder and also attained reasonable social and occupational functioning. The good news of this important prospective study is that for individuals with this disorder, treatment can be quite successful."

Time for a new #introduction post.

Hiya. 👋 I'm Dreadful Sanity aka Mel, a level 47 gamer from Germany. #Videogames keep me basically from going completely crazy and therefore alive. I'm #disabled, suffering from debilitating #migraines most days of the week. I also have #ADHD which means my brain is usually going all over the place. And last but not least, there is some #BPD mixed into the mess that I am. Beware of that.

The games that I usually alternate through are...
#Warcraft
#DragonAge
#MassEffect
#Cyberpunk2077
#TheSims4
#BaldursGate3

Though every now and then I will play something new. Or different.

I think that's all. 👉 👈 😊
