@pennine #trump #tarriffs #Trumphalism It looks as if Trumphalism is going the way of #Brexit. Supported by about half the citizens. Supposed to make a country great again. Upsets neighbouring countries. Results in self harm. Promoted by the same sort of idealogues. Backed by the same sort of money. Dances to the tune of Putin’s plans. And after a while many who supported it realise they have not just been misled but lied to.

Trump: I am imposing tariffs to make people buy American and rebuild American industries.

Dictionary: This is protectionism.

Lammy: We're in a new era of American protectionism.

No 10 and Starmer: We're too afraid to call a spade a spade (because Brexit weakened our negotiating power)

🙄

"How Trump has reset the Brexit reset" - chrisgreybrexitblog.blogspot.c

Prof. Grey's conclusion: "realpolitik and statecraft ought to alert us to the fact that the immorality of what is unfolding in the United States, quite as much as the imposition of tariffs, represents a clear and present danger to our national interests and our way of life."

What you want to say, but are too afraid too, is "we need to undo Brexit, as it was a massive fucking mistake"

Starmer there, thinking like a child caught in a divorce and not a National Leader in a time of global crisis "doesn't want to choose between the US and the EU"

Don't you get it you slow mutherfucker, you don't make that choice, it's already been made for you, WAKE UP!

My book Flipping Patriarchy, by @manwhohasitall just arrived! I got a letter from DHL about a package of mine in the customs, but I had no idea what it could be. When I saw that it was coming from Bristol, UK, I guessed that it was the book I supported two years ago.

It took me some time to understand that I had to send the receipt, after saying was just a book. But it worked out in the end. Thank you, Brexiters, for making it harder to buy a book made in the UK!

Aren't you glad that #Brexit made the UK so pitifully irrelevant that the Fascist US decided to only give us 10 cracks of the whip (this time)? Do you see now?

And whiny little lefties, aren't you glad that Starmer so pandered to Fascists that Trump grew fond of him? Do you see now?

Will you never learn? Snake oil works! 😳

@Jen.Henriksson you stand up to bullies, you don't just take their abuse and then hide in corner, worrying what you did to deserve it.
But that's what our slow Prime Minister is doing, and judging from Parliament today, most politicians haven't a fucking clue about what is happening or what to do.

Obviously it means going back to the EU, but for the pride of the worst of us, we won't.
