hanno<p>I felt it was still relevant, so I re-published it as my latest newsletter. Since 2023, some of the same researchers have also started a project to test CO2 storage in Switzerland. Citizens of Zürich approved a project to store CO2 emissions from a sewer sludge waste incinerator. Brüssel für „gewissen Pragmatismus“ bei Klimazielen

In der Debatte über die noch ausstehenden #Klimaziele der #EU bis 2040 hat sich EU-Klimakommissar Wopke #Hoekstra heute offen für Zugeständnisse an skeptische Länder wie #Tschechien und #Italien gezeigt.

„Wir werden einen gewissen Pragmatismus brauchen“, sagte Hoekstra. Er wolle „bis zum Sommer“ offiziell einen Vorschlag für das EU-Ziel für die #CO2-Reduktion bis 2040 vorlegen.

Bisher hatte die Kommission eine Verringerung der #Kohlendioxidemissionen um mindestens 90% im Vergleich zu 1990 als Ziel ausgegeben, aber noch keinen Vorschlag für die nötige Gesetzesänderung vorgelegt.
