Geoengineering is at state of its development where large-scale deployment, even for testing purposes, would be incredibly reckless. The possibility of perturbing the climate in ways that cannot be predicted, and whose environmental effects are fully unknown, is both irresponsible and unethical.

The UK Government should not permit this or any similar activity: independent.co.uk/news/uk/home

Further, the international community should broadly prohibit geoengineering as a climate policy option: solargeoeng.org/non-use-agreem

"... in Arizona, obstruction is less about shifting blame and more about affirming local identity and resisting perceived external influence. Based on these findings, I propose an expansion of the DCD framework to include a new subcategory—“pride, identity, and culture”—to capture how regional cultural values influence climate discourse."

"...there have always been figures at the periphery of the research community who have refused to accept the evidence for climate change and would happily contribute to a report that rejects mainstream science. It's entirely possible that we'll see these individuals step up to produce a radically different assessment than the one that had been in the works."

“As for the framework itself, it includes a lower carbon-intensity target that rises from 4% in 2028 to 30% in 2035, plus an upper target increasing from 17% in 2028 to 43% in 2035.

Any ships that could not reduce their emissions intensity in line with these goals by switching to cleaner fuels would need to pay $100 per tonne of CO2 for exceeding the lower target and $380 per tonne of CO2 for breaching the upper target.”

A “”hit list” of clean energy projects awarded billions of dollars that the Trump administration could wipe out.”:

“The list, obtained by the AP, includes wind, solar, battery storage and electric vehicle infrastructure projects.

It includes funding to help heavy industries transition away from fossil fuels and funding to decarbonize buildings. “

“Eine Mehrheit der Deutschen spricht sich für schärfere Klimaschutzmaßnahmen aus. 57,5 Prozent der Männer und Frauen über 18 Jahren sind dafür…

Nur 29,9 Prozent stimmen zu, dass die ökologischen Kosten bei Produkten, Gütern und Diensten in den Preis einfließen sollten.”
