Well, two questions have been answered, one I already kinda knew, but seeing is believing. The tree-cutting, and general vandalism in the woods adjacent to the carp lake in Heamoor #Cornwall is being perpetrated by bored Mounts Bay School kids, roughly 13-14 years old. I saw them doing it. As for the mysterious piles of wood, which is stripping the woodland floor of nutrients (Poltair Wood), is being done by a short blonde woman, between 40-50, for reasons best known to herself, and God.

Church contains a fabulous collection of 79 bench ends from 1510-1530. This, the first to be seen when entering, says: 'Robert Daye maker of this worke & William Bokyngham Curate John Hodge Clerk'. People assume Robert Daye to be the carver but in class-ridden C16 a lowly carver would not be named above the Curate and Clerk. So Daye is the donor who 'caused to be made' this or all 79 bench ends, though the unnamed carver deserves much credit.
