Finnish <a href="https://attractive.space/tags/crossword" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>crossword</span></a> clue says ‘stone in watches’ and I just can’t fathom how it’s not ‘ruby’ and try to get the other words to somehow fit that. </p><p>Right answer: quartz. </p><p>Oh yeah, some very odd watches use that too.</p>

John Schrag<p>I always wanted to do cryptic crosswords, but could never figure them out. Occasionally I’d ask someone to explain a clue to me, and the answer just sounded impossible.</p><p>So I want to shout out the folks at minutecryptic.com, a free puzzle site that puts up one clue per day, and an interface that gives structured hints. So it actually teaches you how to do cryptics as you use it. It’s really smart design.
