Martin Holland<p>Any ideas? ☝🏼</p><p><a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/FediHelp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>FediHelp</span></a> <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/html" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>html</span></a> <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/emojis" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>emojis</span></a> <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/JavaScript" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>JavaScript</span></a> <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/DataTables" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DataTables</span></a></p>
Martin Holland<p>That means, this sheet is more powerful than the one I built on <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/GoogleDocs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GoogleDocs</span></a>. That's all thanks to <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/DataTables" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DataTables</span></a> and the very helpful community there.</p><p>I'm quite certain, that there are still mistakes with the languages and the country of origin, so if you spot one, please tell me. <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://flipboard.social/@Flipboard" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>Flipboard</span></a></span> has a helpful sheet with all accounts, they federated, but it doesn't contain languages and no country for about half of them.</p>
ResearchBuzz: Firehose<p>Spotted on Mastodon: a spreadsheet of 900 media outlets with a Fediverse presence. “I did it! Although it’s still very rough &amp; really not pretty, I got my spreadsheet with (&gt; 900) verified accounts of media organizations in the <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://rbfirehose.com/tag/fediverse/" target="_blank">#Fediverse</a> away from <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://rbfirehose.com/tag/google/" target="_blank">#Google</a>. The solution was <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://rbfirehose.com/tag/datatables/" target="_blank">#DataTables</a> all along.”</p><p><a href="https://rbfirehose.com/2025/04/09/spotted-on-mastodon-a-spreadsheet-of-over-900-media-outlets-with-a-fediverse-presence/" class="" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://rbfirehose.com/2025/04/09/spotted-on-mastodon-a-spreadsheet-of-over-900-media-outlets-with-a-fediverse-presence/</a></p>
Martin Holland<p>I did it! Although it's still very rough &amp; really not pretty, I got my spreadsheet with (&gt; 900) verified accounts of media organizations in the <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/Fediverse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Fediverse</span></a> away from <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/Google" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Google</span></a>. The solution was <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/DataTables" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DataTables</span></a> all along 👇🏼</p><p>➡️ <a href="https://fingolas.eu/fediverse/overview.html" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">fingolas.eu/fediverse/overview</span><span class="invisible">.html</span></a></p><p>Now I have to make it pretty (and correct some mistakes), but maybe someone can help me there? For example I know, that you can filter in <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/DataTables" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DataTables</span></a>, but I couldn't get it working. Ideas?</p><p>My file is on GitHub (did I do it right?):<br><a href="https://github.com/fingolas23/AccountsOverview/blob/main/overview.html" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/fingolas23/Accounts</span><span class="invisible">Overview/blob/main/overview.html</span></a></p>
Martin Holland<p>And with regard to the spreadsheet: I have now tried presenting my data (from Google Sheets) in <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/Airtable" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Airtable</span></a> or <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/Grist" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Grist</span></a> (because both look pretty), but both don't sync with the sourca data.<br>Next I tried connecting <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/Sheets" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Sheets</span></a> to <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/DataTables" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DataTables</span></a> (because that's open and also pretty), but that doesn't work either. <br>Now I'm trying to visualize my raw data with <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/DataTables" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DataTables</span></a>, but that's still difficult. I need a no-code solution and really, <a href="https://social.heise.de/tags/Google" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Google</span></a> is so useful, although many here don't like to hear it.</p>
Igor Steinmacher<p>Hey you out there...<br>Do you use data.table or tidyverse on R?<br>I need to have a quick chat about your relationship with these packages to understand community sustainability. <br>It would be a quick and informal chat!<br>Please reach out and tag people who can help</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.acm.org/tags/R" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>R</span></a><br><a href="https://mastodon.acm.org/tags/datatables" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>datatables</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.acm.org/tags/tidyverse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>tidyverse</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.acm.org/tags/opensource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>opensource</span></a></p>
