Vandalism at Michigan Tesla manufacturing site under investigation – Cascade Township, MI

"The vandalism allegedly took place between March 28 and March 31 at the manufacturing site located at 5460 Executive Parkway SE in Cascade Township, police said.

There was minor damage to one of the building’s windows, the Kent County Sheriff’s Office confirmed."

Την Παρασκευή 9 Μαΐου, πραγματοποιήθηκε στο Πανεπιστήμιο Καβάλας ημερίδα της εταιρείας Energean με θέμα την αποθήκευση CO₂. Η Συντονιστική Φορέων Θάσου, μαζί με μέλη της Πρωτοβουλίας Καβάλας παρενέβη με στόχο να αναδείξει τις σοβαρές αντιρρήσεις απέναντι στο επικίνδυνο αυτό έργο.
Συνολικά συμμετείχαμε περίπου 25 άτομα από Θάσο και Καβάλα. Σηκώθηκαν 3 πανό, εκ των οποίων το ένα ήταν δικό μας, με καθαρό μήνυμα ενάντια στην αποθήκευση CO₂ στα σπλάχνα της Θάσου.
Στη μέση της εκδήλωσης, μέλη της Πρωτοβουλίας και Θάσιοι προχώρησαν σε παρέμβαση μέσα στην αίθουσα, υψώνοντας πανό, φωνάζοντας συνθήματα και θέτοντας ερωτήματα – που παρέμειναν αναπάντητα. Η παρέμβαση ήταν ειρηνική, διήρκησε περίπου 5 λεπτά και ακολούθησε αποχώρηση των συμμετεχόντων, που στάθηκαν έξω από το κτίριο.
Σημειώνουμε με ανησυχία ότι:
– Η βιντεοσκόπηση απαγορεύτηκε, με επιμονή να κλείσουμε τα κινητά μας.
– Η πόρτα της αίθουσας κλειδώθηκε, αποκλείοντας την ελεύθερη είσοδο και έξοδο.
– Η αίθουσα ήταν κατάμεστη από φοιτητές, στους οποίους είχε υποσχεθεί η διοργάνωση βεβαίωση παρακολούθησης.
Στο τέλος της ημερίδας, φοιτητής–μέλος της Συντονιστικής έθεσε δημόσια ερώτηση προς την Energean. Η απάντηση που δόθηκε ήταν πως πρέπει να την αποστείλει με email για να απαντηθεί. Η ερώτηση θα σταλεί τις επόμενες ημέρες και όταν λάβουμε επίσημη απάντηση, θα τη δημοσιοποιήσουμε.
Ξεχωριστή στιγμή της εκδήλωσης ήταν η ομιλία του καθηγητή Αθανάσιου Μητρόπουλου (Τμήμα Χημείας ΔΠΘ), ο οποίος παρουσίασε με σαφήνεια και επιστημονική τεκμηρίωση τους σοβαρούς κινδύνους του έργου αποθήκευσης CO₂. Η παρουσίασή του ανέτρεψε το αφήγημα της εταιρείας και θεωρούμε σημαντικό να επιδιώξουμε συνεργασία μαζί του στο μέλλον.
Η παρουσία μας σήμερα έστειλε ένα ξεκάθαρο μήνυμα: οι φωνές αντίστασης πληθαίνουν, και οι φοιτητές αρχίζουν να προβληματίζονται. Η ενημέρωση συνεχίζεται. Η Θάσος δεν θα γίνει πειραματόζωο.

Solidarity with Marcy Rheintgen, the 20-year- old trans student who deliberately defied her state's fascistic and sexist bathroom restrictions in a courageous act of civil disobedience.

"I'm here to break the law" she said before entering the bathroom at the state capital. Police arrested her as she came out. She faces 60 days in jail.

In Utah, activists flooded a gender policing tip line with hoax reports. No reason you can't do that in Florida, too, and in all of the other 12 states that have these ridiculous laws.

Remember, these anti trans laws oppress ALL women including cis women, who are increasingly being told to prove their sex, like the cis lesbian couple in a Boston hotel, or the cis Arizona woman, arrested for using a Walmart bathroom. J
