Don't say gay in Trump's America — even if you're just referring to the name of a plane. @AssociatedPress reports on how the Defense Department is purging diversity, equity and inclusion content from its website. So far, 26,000 images have been marked for deletion including a photo of the Enola Gay (the plane that dropped an atomic bomb on Japan) and a picture of a group of engineers, one of whom had the last name Gay.

An award-winning #book about the true story of the #SameSex #penguin couple raising a chick was banned in #Florida in response to the state's #DontSayGay #law.

The 2005 book #AndTangoMakesThree by Justin Richardson & Peter Parnell was removed from #libraries & #classrooms in Florida.

The school board said titles were "administratively removed due to content regarding #SexualOrientation / #gender identification prohibited in #HB1557.”

…the settlement, which was submitted Mon [Mar 11] to the 11th US Circuit…, makes clear that the #law doesn't bar classroom references to #LGBTQ people & issues. It also does not prevent LGBTQ grps or anti-bullying measures.
