The Tiller<p>Oh whow, <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/duolingo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>duolingo</span></a> enshittifying at pace now. On top of the ludicrous pronunciation errors (my post yesterday), they interrupt you now with ads for their new top-tier subscription level that includes video calls with an AI avatar. <br>It gets tedious. 🙄</p><p>Anyone know alternatives, especially for French? (Lingonaut has not been launched yet.)</p>
Shaula Evans<p>Apparently Duolingo is backtracking about firing contractors. Good news for the workers, if it's true and not just PR. I won't believe it until it's verified.</p><p>However, Duo is also still full-steam ahead on incorporating AI. Sehr schade, es hat für mich gut funktioniert und lange Spaß gemacht.</p>
