Hokay. Pulled BBQ pork, homemade coleslaw and potato salad, and fresh NEPA sweet corn as both vegetable and dessert for supper. I believe the corn variety is "Bread & Butter" (white and yellow kernels on the same ear): at least it looks and tastes like what my Uncle Luther used to grow each year.

I'm stuffed silly, and very happy. 😋 😀

We’re firmly in “big farmer’s market salad for Saturday dinner” territory. Tonight was: lettuce from our farm share, miso butter glazed roasted harukei turnips, roasted beets, roasted carrots, Parmesan cheese chunks, & toasted pistachios. With a yogurt-herb dressing using a mix of herbs from the market and from our garden. In a few weeks, no one at the market will have lettuce, as it gets too hot. Will enjoy it while it lasts! #Food #Vegetarian #EatLocal

When a chef I trust pulled me aside to tell me about someone who's fighting the odds to start a hot sauce company, I took notice. Jacob Wilkinson, who is visually impaired, turned a pandemic project into Blowing Smoke, featuring Ontario-grown produce with fantastic names like Devil’s Night and Yellow Snow.

Am so honoured he let me tell his story.
