Sean Fenian
So a while back I mentioned I was going to try a Flo Mask and report on my experience with it compared to the Envo Mask. Well, I've had my Flo Mask for several weeks now and I have some conclusions.

First, what I liked about the #Envo #Mask:
‣ Very comfortable, if it fits you
‣ Seals much better than typical disposable N95 masks
‣ N95 filtration
‣ Multiple strap options
‣ The gel cushion seal comfortably accommodates a lit of different face shapes
‣ There's an optional splash guard to protect the filter element from liquid sprays and splashes.

And what I didn't like:
‣ I found the mask frame not deep enough, it pressed on the end of my nose
‣ There's one size of mask and it doesn't fit everyone well
‣ The gel cushion seal is attached with a glue film that eventually comes off, and then you have to replace the entire mask because there's (according to Envo Mask) no practical way to repair it (I've effected temporary repairs using double-sided tape).

Having a second mask in a row fail that same way is why I decided to try the Flo Mask instead.

So how's the #Flo #Mask? Well, like the Envo Mask, it seals very well. It comes in two sizes, not one; I need the deeper-framed model. It sits slightly differently on your face than the Envo Mask does. Its face seal is silicone rubber, instead of gel. I think it fits me slightly better than the Envo Mask does ... IF I use the optional condensation insert. The condensation insert is an open-cell foam ring that, if used, fits inside the flexible face seal. Flo Mask notes that some people will find the mask fits better witl the insert in place, and I'm one of them. The problem with this is that there is nothing to retain the insert, it just kind of tucks in there, and it is easily dislodged. If you wear glasses, the Flo Mask may also be better for you; it has recesses beside the nose to accommodate even most of the largest framed glasses. The Envo Mask doesn't. Filter replacement also seems easier in the Flo Mask, with less worry that you're going to break the mask.

Verdict? Still out. The Flo Mask seems to be more flexible in fit, and there's instructions on their site for measuring to determine which size you need. The Flo Mask's face seal seems more robustly attached than the Envo Mask's, but doesn't seal quite as well without the condensation insert, which isn't.

They're certainly both very good. I'd be hesitant to say which is better overall. At this point I'm leaning towards the FloMask, but I'm not entirely decided. The main thing I dislike about it is the poor retention of the foam insert.

Either one is way better than a disposable mask. Neither one is cheap.
