This is a tiny charitable contribution. Any additional revenue they see from those organizations paying (at discounted rates) to retain the functionality is even tinier.

This is /not/ motivated by greed.

If anything, it's worse. This change means Microsoft can honestly say that they are absolutely /not/ providing free #software to organizations that support #DEI. It's about stepping back from supporting #diversity, #equity, #accessibility, and/or #inclusion.

I can count on my fingers... In 2020, Microsoft #CEO Satya Nadella announced a five-year commitment to DEI. Separately, he also announced a five-year commitment to accessibility.

June 30, 2025 marks the end of Microsoft's fiscal year, and the end of these commitments.
