It’s Canada Day today. A complicated holiday. I think our greatest chance is to listen to those who are most oppressed, and work to make that world…there are more people in the world who think this than not even though it might not feel like it. And yes... of course he ...

"It should come as no surprise that after the massacres of October 7, 2023, all the loudest voices from the residential-schools “activism” immediately merged with the loudest voices in the ‘From Turtle Island to Palestine’ histrionics."

It's a wonder he sleeps at night with the spirits of innocent victims of genocidal governments swirling around him.

Terry Glavin is the biggest anti-indigenous racist, residential school genocide denier-journalist in all of Canada. (he's also a big Yellow Peril kind of guy which I got into it with him once on Twitter before he blocked me)

Imagine calling lowering flags to half mast for six months due to the nation coming to grips with the DEATH OF THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN "a national psychotic episode"

What an asshole.

The Real Story · Will the damage ever be undone?By Terry Glavin

Today, President Joe Biden is apologizing for the US Government's role in their version of Indian Residential Schools.

All across Turtle Island, Indigenous peoples were subjugated, diminished, killed, erased. Governments tried to end their bloodlines and their cultures.

Many cultures and people did survive, but at horrendous cost that continues to be felt today. Some languages and traditions were lost forever.

The focus was on children because they were the future. Indoctrinate them, and you end the culture. (Russia is doing the same in Ukraine)

It was Genocide across the American Continents.

#Canada: Residential school survivors are still fighting for access to records. They can’t heal, until they know. “Nine years after the Truth and Reconciliation Commission report, families and survivors seeking information from various churches and government bodies are hitting roadblocks.” | Joy SpearChief-Morris, The Star thestar.com/news/canada/reside #RightToTruth #IndigenousPeoples #MissingChildren #ResidentialSchools #EveryChildMatters

Today is Truth and Reconciliation Day, a day to recognize and learn about the stories of the lost children and survivors of residential schools and their communities through remembrance and education.

CIRA has raised funds to support the important work being done by the Odawa Native Friendship Centre, which provides dedicated programs and services to the Indigenous community in Ottawa and the surrounding region. #EveryChildMatters #OrangeShirtDay

Gentle reminder that the last residential school in Canada closed in 1998. That's some years after I graduated high school, meaning there were children my age living through this atrocity. It wasn't history for me, it was current events but not news because noone would tell us about it, and still try to hide the truth (as our Alberta Premier says anti-vaxxers were the most discriminated group in her time).
