On June 21, 2011 the FBI made an all out push to locate fugitive James Bulger and his companion, Catherine Greig. They focus on retirement areas and warm weather areas they may be attracted to. In a matter of hours the pair were apprehended at their apartment in Santa Monica CA in June 22. Bulger was convicted of most of his crimes and sent to federal prison. After serving his time in Coleman FL he was transferred to Hazelton WV where a mere 12 hours after his arrival he was killed on October 30, 2018.
Catherine Greig was Bulger's companion on the run. She was arrested with him and was convicted on harboring a fugitive. Greig served several years and was released in July 2020. She reportedly lives in the Boston area.
