I left due to a toxic work experience and have been trying to get into either the SD or Long Beach VA. While I was employed and after, I applied for numerous RN jobs and never get past the referral stage. I am also licensed as an AGNP, and was told by a recruiter at the Albuquerque VA that this may be a hinderance. I was denied recruitment into the VA travel core due to being a certified NP. Is this the reason I am not getting interviews? Any tips for getting hired at a CA VA? BUEs AmeriCorps workers will soon begin returning to work. This is a direct result of the litigation filed by AFSCME Local 2027 (District Council 20) against AmeriCorps. And this win at AmeriCorps is just one example of AFSCME members fighting back to protect their jobs so they can continue to provide vital services to their communities. Have 20 years of service and early 40s. I was a GS15 Director overseeing grants management. I assume my easiest transition will be to a grant recipient organization but I really don’t want to transition into another unstable employment situation. I have an MBA from UC Berkeley but I graduated in 2010s so I’m not sure how relevant it will be in today’s job market. I’ve thought about using the schools network but find it difficult to start at an entry level position when I have 2 school age kids and an entry level job will strain us significantly financially. I am hoping for a lateral or even a step down role instead of starting over. I was insulted by the original round of DRP, and I scoffed at it when they tried to make it sound better. I was told that I would be forced into early retirement given my status. But, what I don't understand is if I'm forced into early retirement why do I have to take all of the penalties associated with early retirement? I'm not electing early retirement, they're forcing it on me. I feel, I shouldn't be subject to those penalties.
