People need to read this kind of news like the Martin Niemöller poem "First they came". Climate is a tyrant wannabe, following the same plan as a dictator wannabe the current US President, or like Hitler and others before him:

First attack the most vulnerable and hope most people shrug it off as not relevant to them. Then ratchet it up a bit more.

It comes for is all .. or in this case for all of our food. Do not treat this story as a one-off anomaly. Just like stories about polar bears are not about just polar bears.

These are the metaphorical canaries in our coal mine of a planet. Hear them for the alarm they are meant to be.

Treat it as practice for worse. If you don't know what that means to do, treat this as a chance to ask a lot of hard questions. When Climate comes for you, and for your food supply, it will likely be too late.

Interesting side effect of planting all this lettuce. (and I'm only planting more)...

I'm losing weight.

With growing all this lettuce, I feel bad letting it go to waste, so I've been eating more salads and using it in more stir fry, etc. Basically finding an excuse to use what I grow even while continuing to give away much of what I grow.

Apparently prior to this, I severely lacked enough fiber and roughage.

So by eating more lettuce, I've been increasing the my fiber intake and being satiated more quickly and therefore eating less calories overall. You know. The basics of nutrition.

Plus I feel a lot better too now that I'm getting better nutrients and water intake.

Who knew, lol.

Anyhow, I've lost 7 lbs this last month while feeling more full with each meal than I ever have before.

Remember in Phillip K Dick's book "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" (aka Blade Runner) that the Voight-Kampff test questions and the fascination with robotic animals was b/c most of the wildlife on earth was extinct?

Is that the vibe we're starting to see now with food crops? Are the images of foods subliminal talismans to ward off hunger?

Just asking questions.
