Corporate greed and state ‘capture’ - Grenfell as one example

It appears settled that a significant part of the blame for the deaths at Grenfell were down to greed and fraud. Cladding on other flats has made many worthless/unsaleable. As time ticks by, action to hold these comfortable well paid killers to justice remains elusive.

@slashdot If there's money involved there's crime. If everyone froze their credit at the three major credit bureaus it would likely reduce several types of identity fraud. I suggest US residents check out identitytheft.gov for more details on securing your credit. Unfortunately, this means more work for the consumer. As for the higher education facilities it's more time spent vetting students and less time providing a quality education.

Sketchiness on all sides - the #mechanic probably started off legit but ended up committing #fraud rather than admit he'd taken on a job beyond his capabilities - but the #van owner also should have kept his registered keeper address updated - its a legal requirement to do this, and if he didn't do so when the van was working makes you wonder if this was deliberate to try and evade parking fines and/or being held to account of how he drove the vehicle?
