Moldovan oligarch Plahotniuc, accused of €850m bank fraud, is detained in Greece.

Vladimir Plahotniuc fled Moldova in 2019, as he faced a series of corruption charges, including allegations of complicity in a scheme that led to $1 billion disappearing from a Moldovan bank in 2014, which at the time was equivalent to around one-eighth of the country's annual GDP.

Hackers guessed a password, destroyed a 158 year old British company, and put 700 people out of work.
I don’t care how old the hackers are, when caught, we should make an example of them. The current sentencing guidelines will undoubtedly be way too lenient.

"remodeling contracts and invoices bearing the Dallas Housing Authority’s name. But when Brennan called the agency to verify the deal, the illusion crumbled; there was no such project.
"All fake," Brennan said. "The level of counterfeit documents … it had to be a full-time job for him to do that."

“The District Attorney falsely made up a court date - May 23, 2025 - and drafted a fraudulent subpoena that if Aetna did not provide documents on that date, it would be in contempt of Court,” the letter says. “Then, rather than having Aetna give the documents to the Court, as required by the already fraudulent subpoena, the District Attorney told Aetna to provide the documents directly to the District Attorney, intentionally eliminating the Court from the subpoena process and ensuring that the District Attorney would secure these confidential medical records.”

Scam Alert
I almost fell for an ad/website offering an 80% discount on Leica cameras. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. Leica is aware of those fraud sites and has put a warning on its site. The one I checked was onlineleicamera.shop.
