AJCxZ0<p>"Ghost in the Wires" by Kevin Mitnick with William L. Simon - Audiobook read by Ray Porter.</p><p>This is the audiobook equivalent of a page-turner, at least partly thanks to an excellent reading by Ray Porter, or a feature-length episode of "Darknet Diaries" (without <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://infosec.exchange/@jackrhysider" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>jackrhysider</span></a></span>). It was weird meeting him the first time, because I grew up just after his star moment but I had heard the legends, read the comics and seen the bumper stickers.<br>He made me realize that we never truly win face to face with leviathan and that the Scientologists can take just about anything they want. Nacho<p>Ostras, se nos ha ido Kevin Mitnick súper joven 😢</p><p>Su importancia en la historia del hacking no se puede obviar. Fue el primer hacker mediático que saltó a las noticias generalistas. Se creó tal leyenda a su alrededor que llegó a estar meses encarcelado en confinamiento solitario porque había miedo a que utilizase las cabinas de teléfono de la cárcel para llamar a un módem y silbar códigos de lanzamiento de misiles. Si tenéis edad suficiente recordaréis que a finales de los 90 y principios de los 2000 en aquella internet primigenia que tanto echamos de menos la campaña Free Kevin era bastante ubicua. En mi caso recuerdo tener un banner en mi primera web en Geocities. </p><p>Tuve la suerte de conocerle hace casi diez años cuando unos antiguos compañeros de trabajo organizaron un congreso de seguridad y se lo trajeron para dar la charla inicial. Luego tuvimos la ocasión de estar un rato tomando algo con él y escucharle contar batallitas. Guardo de recuerdo una copia firmada de sus memorias y su mítica tarjeta de visita con ganzúas.
