„Scientists Are Now 43 Seconds Closer to Producing Limitless Energy“

popularmechanics.com/science/e

„As plasma was heated with microwaves over those record-breaking 43 seconds, the fuel injector provided the stellarator with 90 pellets of frozen hydrogen ions. The microwave heating system used electron cyclotron resonance—the most effective method for fusion, which uses electromagnetic waves to heat and ionize plasma to temperatures that (in this case) reached a scorching 30 million degrees Celsius (about 54 million degrees Fahrenheit). Because success depended on balancing heating with pulses of incoming fuel, the pellet injector was programmed with automatic pulse rates, which is an unprecedented move.“ #Wendelstein7X #Greifswald #fusionenergy #stellarator

I loved our inflatable SPARC (the tokamak we're building now to demonstrate net fusion energy and pave the way for our ARC fusion power plants). This was at an inspiring (for me at least) Commonwealth Fusion Systems all-hands meeting. The inflatable incarnation of SPARC was fun, but our work on the actual SPARC is very real. #FusionEnergy #Science

UK Scientists Achieve First Commercial Tritium Production! 🔬

Classic fusion paradox: you need fusion fuel to make fusion work, but you need fusion to make the fuel. Astral Systems just cracked this chicken-and-egg problem by breeding tritium in their own reactor - addressing the global shortage that's been blocking fusion progress.

Still think we'll have commercial fusion in "just 10 more years"? 🤔

hardware.slashdot.orgUK Scientists Achieve First Commercial Tritium Production - Slashdot Interesting Engineering reports: Astral Systems, a UK-based private commercial fusion company, has claimed to have become the first firm to successfully breed tritium, a vital fusion fuel, using its own operational fusion reactor. This achievement, made with the University of Bristol, addresses a ...

Wendelstein 7-X erreicht neuen Bestwert

#fusionenergy #RFPPC2025 #kernfusion

Hopefully this would mitigate the petroleum land-grab wars, which has been every war from WWI forward.

"Canada Just Fired Up the Future of Energy!

General Fusion has set a new world record — generating 600 million neutrons per second in a breakthrough for Magnetized Target Fusion (MTF)!

Their revolutionary tech?

Plasma is injected into a spinning sphere of liquid metal and compressed using steam-powered pistons to mimic the sun’s core.

This creates extreme conditions: over 100 million °C and powerful plasma confinement — proving fusion energy is closer than ever.

With the Lawson Machine 26 (LM26) aiming for breakeven by 2026, Canada is fast-tracking a future of clean, limitless, zero-carbon power.

Fusion isn’t coming. It’s here."
