Michal Bryxí 🌱<p>Every year, on particular day, I sit down and write and write and write. I describe what happened in my life in past 365 days. What I expect to happen in the upcoming year. My projections, hopes, wishes, resolutions. Then I hit send and said letter will be delivered back to me in exactly one Earth rotation around the Sun.</p><p>Why?</p><p>It's therapeutic. I have to go through all the photos I took during the year and see all the beautiful moments, the changes, the friends.</p><p>And when I get my letter back, I am often times shocked by the person that wrote it. It's me, but not really. It's different me. I see my past thoughts as if it was a book. I see my past wishes as (usually) partially finished TODO list. I see the unfulfilled wishes for change as extremely loud siren crying out loud for me to finally act on them.</p><p>Try it. I cry when I'm reading one. But I did somehow have to go through a full cycle of seasons to get past most of the adjustment. Leisureguy<p>FutureMe.org is useful &amp; interesting. One thing I do on the first of each month is read the email from a year ago that I just received and write an email to be delivered a year hence.</p><p>The Dec 1 email was gratifying cuz I had several goals that now are well in hand. </p><p>When I'm worried about some upcoming thing, I write an email about my worries to be delivered shortly after the event.
