99% of the time, my main desktop/linux machine is working fine.
The rest of the time, I'm using 'Nvidia' as a perjorative.
Case in point: I get a notification I need to reboot my machine, due to a critical update. It's rare these pop up w/ livepatch, but not unheard of, and it takes like 30 seconds to reboot anyhow. Not exactly a big thing, I'll be back up and running in a jiff. No problem right?
Reboot finishes, and I'm at 1024x768, on a single monitor. None of the others. Fucking-
Okay, let's see. Maybe there's some package updates? Yep. A whole lot of 'libnvidia' packages need updating. It's about 600 megs. (At least it didn't take down networking this time so I didn't need to drop back to a previous kernel loadout.) Let it run. On a lark, reboot again. Everything is back as it was.
Goddamnit, Nvidia. I love telling people to game on linux, but shit like this *really* damages my enthusiasm.
