Cyber Yuki<p>I installed my "city at night" picture over my bed, yay! :blobcheer:​</p><p>Also, some of the goodies I ordered arrived:</p><ul><li>wood plugs</li><li>wall mounted coat racks</li><li>My 6U vertical rack rails, yipee!!! :blobaww:​ </li><li>Some CD organizing stuff for the remnants of my house cleanup</li><li>Cable guides, yay!</li></ul><p>I also bought some hydrochloric-acid chemical for cleaning the efflorescence in my room (it's like a disease for buildings that makes them bubble up and ruin the paint. We call it "salitre"). Someone will come next week to take care of those.</p><p>I also jotted down some painting tones for my walls. Cyber Yuki<p>I mounted my Horizon wall art! :blobaww: </p><p>Mounting this presented its difficulties. First of all, I am strictly forbidden by my landlord from damaging the walls, so that leans no nails.</p><p>No problem, right? Just use velcro strips.</p><p>Well... unlike framed photos, this wall art was printed on canvas, and the canvas was wrapped and stapled to the wooden frame. I had to put the velcro strips on the frame diagonals.</p><p>Before removing the waxed strip, I mounted the painting with the back pointing at me. I placed my level on the bottom frame and tilted the painting carefully until the level told me it was ok.</p><p>Then I drew a pencil line on the wall using the painting as a guide.</p><p>Flip the painting, remove the waxed paper cover from the strips and align the portrait with the pencil line.</p><p>Press firmly for a few seconds...</p><p>and the painting didn't stick 😱</p><p>It turns out that the canvas staples were a millimeter above the velcro strips. Fortunately I had another package of strips, so I put them on top of the other strips.
