I'm wearing my knit vest out for the first time today!
It'll be too hot by afternoon to have it on all day, but I can at least enjoy the morning.
Not a fan of how the shoulders look, I think the blocking caused them to stick out like that. :(

Gradient Cardigan - seems like I forgot to post the final pictures. So here they are - this is my favorite garment at the moment, I love the flowy, extravagant look so much.
I wore it to the office the first time the day after Ozzy Osbourne died. One colleague said I should make another one with a black to grey gradient and it would be a Ozzy-Memorial-Coat.
She might be on to something .. (not going to happen though).

Finished ... And worn.
It's been done for a while but it was always too warm to actually wear it so: no pictures so far. But yesterday it was finally ok.
My colleague said, if it were in black to grey it would be an Ozzy Osbourne memorial coat after seeing me spinning around to show it off. She might be on to something ...

Maybe I should knit another one? This is a skirt I've made for my daughter around 10 years ago. It's a variation of the famous Lanesplitter Pattern, but with short rows so it flares a bit around the bottom
And I started along one of the diagonal lines so there's no visible seam
It has moved on to another girl many years ago and I don't know what happened to it after that. But I still think it's nice

#throwbackthursday to 2012
The first pair of socks I've made from handspun yarn. I was a rather novice spinner back then and the yarn wasn't quite up to the task so the socks didn't last very long.
But I learned a ton through this project.
And it was real slow fashion - spinning the yarn (a 3-ply), took as long as knitting the socks.

1. Went back to work today (after a 2 week break) and it felt like I never left.
2. Made a mockup of Helen's Closet Gilbert top, and it does seem like I might get away with not doing any (or many) alterations! Still need to see if sizing it down will work, but I might make the first top oversized.
3. Continued with sock knitting like I'd been doing it all my life while watching some episodes of Rick and Morty.
I hand sewed a pirate shirt using 18th century sewing methods
Finished something a few weeks ago. And as always: no good pictures of me wearing the thing exist.
It's a knit shirt, based on the pattern "Green Machine" from an older #knitty issue. The yarn is Coast from Holst Yarn. I've made it a bit longer with mostly a longer lace portion to wear it as a normal shirt, not an additional layer.
At a gauge of 26 sts/10 cm it really is #slowfashion
yesterday's habi fiesta (weaver's fair).
I didn't buy anything because this wasn't in the budget -- these things tend to cost a lot -- but I did get some new ideas for my multi-way clothing concept. I'm sort of working on a line of clothes that adjust for different body types, heights, moods, etc.
also in the first pic, I'm wearing the fun floral vest I made from deadstock fabric and my fave blanc nué pillow bag in black with khaki straps.
Whoo, a knit garment!
I've steam blocked the front and back pieces before sewing them together, but I'm going to try wet block it now that it's complete to hopefully fix some of the places where my novice knitting caused uneven stitches.
