The senate in particular is no longer a rubber stamp, thanks to Trudeau.</p><p>We can also thank him for the proliferation of safe consumption sites and the rapid progress we've seen in harm reduction. Thomas D. Embree 🇨🇦<p>I'm watching a documentary of Rob Ford, and as much as I want to dislike the guy, as an addict it affects me seeing the crack video. He obviously needed help, and he wasn't getting it. It's also possible that drug use played an indirect role in his death. </p><p>Substance use isn't a crime, addiction is a personal healthcare issue.</p><p>He was a bad politician, there are plenty of things to criticize. However, it just goes to show how damaging criminalization of drug use is; instead of using safely, prisoners would rather risk death than risk further criminalization. </p><p>Too many people also believe prisoners "forfeit their rights" (they don't, by law).
