Just finished a 13-mile hike through a national forest. I only get a chance to do this a couple times a year. There's a really unhappy tendon or ligament where my right hip fits into my abdomen, but the rest of me is quite delighted. Scrub jays were my main companion, but also just the freedom to let my mind roam or even shut off. It was sad to come off the trail straight into a hot sea of asphalt and giant stores.

My lovely walk today was cut short because I rolled my ankle on a pothole on a country lane, fell down and hurt my knee and wrist. So rather than a 15km walk, I ended up only walking about 7km. When I got home and took my boot off, my ankle swelled up and is now in agony. So my boot kept my ankle stable and pain free, which I guess is a good thing, but I may have walked on it too much.
We have a walk planned with friends tomorrow as well, hope I’ll be able to walk then. It’s not looking hopeful 😭😭.
