Susanne Dahlin<p>A short part of Ruta 40 in the south is unpaved. Its know as the Malditos but it isn't too bad. It could be terrible when wet due to some sections being compacted dirt rather than gravel, but stick to the lines and you'll be fine.</p><p>At the end of that section, I put the bike aside for a bit and went hiking. Susanne Dahlin<p>After crossing the border to Argetina, we ended up on ruta 73 and Ruta 83, a road through the mountains in the Yunga region in Jujuy. I dropped the bike (pic 1) when thinking I somehow could go up one of the steep twists in second gear! </p><p>The road goes past the famous Hornocal lookout where you can see the red and green geological sediments thst ones upon a time were on the bottom of an ocean (pic 2) and you can take a detour to ride the famous Zig Zag Caspalá (pic 3), which takes you to the town of Caspalá where we spent the night.
