Did I tell you that before arriving in #Australia, you have to make sure you don't bring any prohibited items? And lots of stuff are prohibited.

To make sure the continent is not contaminated, you get these small forms. For each item, they say "if not sure, declare it"

My tip: Just declare it. You are probably never 100% sure, and forgetting to declare an item is a criminal offence. Border control will happily help you figure things out.

The orange "incoming passenger card". On the left side, you leave personal details such as names and passport number. On the right side, you are asked to declare prohibited items you have on you. Those contain soil, wood, food items, alcoholic beverages and more. It clearly states "If not sure, declare it" Underneath you have to sign that your given information is true and complete, and that you understand that leaving out information is a punishable criminal offence.
On the back of the form, you have to provide information about your stay. This contains contact details in Australia, emergency contact, and reason and length of stay.

Ich habe gerade mal auf HappyCow nach #Vegan:en Restaurants in der Nähe der #UTS in #Sydney gesucht ...

Heiliger, es gibt dort einiges, gerade im Vergleich zu Aachen. Ich mache mir jetzt zur Aufgabe, bis zum Ende des Semesters ein #Review zu jedem #Restaurant auf dieser Karte zu veröffentlichen (Hier und auf HappyCow 😉️)

Auch ausprobiert wird der vegane Lieferdienst „Vegan Food Hub“. Mal sehen, wie der wird.

Happy Cow Karte um die UTS Sydney herum. Ich zähle 9 Restaurants im Umkreis von etwa 1.2 km. Das ist krass viel! Eine echte Großstadt hat schon wirklich seine Vorzüge, aber es scheint auch viele Veganer in Australien zu geben: Etwa 6% laut trulyexperiences.com. Ich hab dazu aber keine genauere Quelle gefunden. Laut Statista waren es in 2019 2%, und nach anderen Quellen ist es danach angestiegen. Vielleicht ist etwas an den 6% dran, aber ich würde die Zahl nicht für komplett richtig halten.

Ich habe die genaue Adresse, 15 Broadway, eines UTS Gebäudes angegeben. 3 Restaurantketten liefern momentan über diese App: - Plantas, ein Mexikanisches Restaurant - Soul Burger - Zaynas, ein Libanesisches Restaurant Natürlich werde ich mich auch einmal durch deren Menü durchprobieren 😉️
