Free good fings:
1. We fixed the problem of the robot hoover going in circles. There was ten years of dust behind the drive wheel, which forced the wheel off the drive shaft and so it just spun around without gripping the shaft. Cleaned out the crud and it seated back on the shaft nicely.
2. Yesterday's South Island Randonnée was grand, steaming along the Military Road at 40kph in the wake of some much stronger people. I managed it for a bit and then backed off to save some legs for the Freshwater hills. Wish I hadn't, now!
3. The rest of my group got in a panic about missing the ferry so skipped the last control point. I did the last control, this completing the course, and got back to the ferry with a huge margin of two minutes to spare. To say my friends were surprised to see me... and I have the bragging rights for a whole year.

Shiny!
Bringing my very under-used 27 tooth cassette into service ready for the Isle of Wight Randonnee at the weekend. It is almost a shame to use it.
While many people kick-start their day with a cup of caffeine: Breakfast Tea, Espresso perhaps, I prefer a cheeky cocktail — a shot of Serotonin, a dash of Dopamine, a twist of Endorphins, a splash of Endocannabinoids, and a kick of Adrenaline — all naturally released during and after a run.
I’m still nursing a bit of a hamstring niggle, but it’s heading in the right direction as I tentatively reintroduce some gentle speed work.
April looked like this:
Distance: 186km (115.58 miles)
Longest run: 10.96km (6.81 miles)
Average run: 7.68km (4.77 miles)
Average pace: 5:37/km (9:03/mile)
Fastest km: 4:50/km (7:47/mile)
VO₂ max: 45

@neil #isleofwight! (UK for everyone else)
We use different cargo bikes for different work, picking the most efficient solution for the job at hand Because it would be ridiculous to use a sledgehammer (truck) to crack a nut (deliver a small parcel to a residential address) #CargoBike #IsleOfWight #LarryVsHarry #Yuba
I had a great ride to #Ventnor yesterday, and I didn't ruin myself in the process (by which, considering the lack of cycling recently, I am amazed)
The sun came out too (no surprise #sunniestplaceinbritain ) and my updated AWOL did great.

A quick trip out tonight to watch the postponed New Year's Eve fireworks at Sandown.
At least the weather behaved this time

I wrote up my latest mini-adventure sailing to, and staying overnight at Newtown Creek on the #IsleOfWight. Lot's of lessons learned but a great time had. #sailing

I love visiting this calm oasis in the middle of a park in Shanklin. Red squirrels are in abundance here and the wildlife friendly plants around the crazy golf course are so pretty. We've restocked our Craft Cabin (definitely NOT a shed) for the summer season ahead.
Half the menu at the cafe is vegan, so I'm in heaven #RylstoneGardens #IsleofWight
Another beautiful morning on the South Island. I had two swan visitors this morning, they seem to be doing the rounds of the boats in the creek.
