"The 'beautiful' glare - seen early in the morning on Wednesday - actually came from Suffolk Sweet Tomatoes’ LED light units, which are used to encourage the growth of its stock."

The LED strips are tunable, in the sense that they have two separate channels of warm and cool LEDs. I need to design a mains powered, adjustable, Z-wave controlled, two-channel, 50 W LED driver. Anyone who knows anything about how to properly drive LEDs, I'd love to chat.
Months ago I made a makeshift bench light from some high-CRI LED strips and a driver I found on Amazon. Stuck it to a 1x4 and hung it from the ceiling.
Then I built a nice electronics workbench, but the crappy light stayed on.
Today I started building a replacement. The LEDs are inside diffuser channels, the rows are further apart, so the light should be more even and diffuse over the bench. I think it’ll be nice.
Have some before & WIP pics. Excuse the messy bench.
Feeling even better about my decision to stick with MiLight/Miboxer bulbs and LED strips (+an ESP8266 running Milight Hub). I have yet to be disappointed by them, and it's all local RF, no cloud anything, plus real remotes with RGBW controls, not just apps.
I figured Hue would pull something like this eventually.

Have any tips for me? I think some kind of jig that holds the pads and wires together while separating the pads to keep the solder separate would make this faster and more reliable. I could drop a piece of solder wire over each pad to melt with an iron. Maybe I could shape ceramic to do this. Does something already exist? #soldering #ledlighting
Tried out a jig to hold the LED strip in place. The idea is to hold the copper pads and wires in place to place a dab of soldering paste on top and melt it with a hot air gun. #soldering #ledlighting #noisebridge
Not sure if there is much of an #LED Mastodon, but if so, I'd love it if you knew of a *super bright* addressable LED that's out there. From what I can tell, there's not much that's significantly brighter than the WS2812B I use. But I'd love to find it if it exists! #LEDlighting
I would strongly urge municipalities send their Public Works managers to the IES conference on streetlights this October to get up to speed.
