In #TheItalianJob, Michael Caine's character Croker famously rebukes Arthur for using far too much gelignite: "you were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!"

Morgan McSweeney's coup in the UK's so-called "#LabourParty" failed same way: it went way too far even for its own ugly, anti-democratic purposes.

#McSweeney's goal was to blow off #Corbyn's leadership, and cripple the left. But he crippled the party. Now #Starmer's #LINO government is adrift in a storm, with a useless leader

You can advise the Labour Party to make a populist case for workers' rights on the basis they are highly popular with the electorate, but businesses are urging the PM & Chancellor to at least further water down the legislation (pointing no doubt to a recent FT editorial arguing the same)....

Will Labour listen to a majority of voters or the business sector representatives they meet regularly?

My guess is they'll be earning the hashtag #LINO (again)

The Guardian · Starmer urged to make ‘populist case’ for workers’ rights reformsBy Jessica Elgot

Quakers in Britain has been refused permission to give evidence in a landmark legal challenge to the #UK #LINO government's proscription of #PalestineAction as a #terrorist group.

“For #Quakers, faith and action are inseparable," said Paul Parker, recording clerk for Quakers in Britain. “Peaceful protest, prayer, and non-violent action are expressions of our worship. When this is criminalised, our religious freedom is under attack."

Lucy Powell MP brings high comedy to the Deputy Leadership election in the UK's so-called "Labour Party".😂🤣

#LINO's problem is not poor internal communications. 🙄

The #Starmtroopers are a hard-right clique of ruthless anti-democrats who lied and smeared their way to power. They have no political values other than kicking the left and persecuting critics of Israeli apartheid.

#Starmer has killed Labour. Powell is trying to breathe life into a corpse.

@JimmyB I would never have accepted membership of #ChathamHouse in the first place. They are an integral part of the imperialist complex.

Herzog should have been arrested as soon as he trouched ground in the UK, and hog-tied like the v dangerous mass murderer he is.

But instead, #Starmer's #LINO govt invited him to tea. 😡

Chatham House invited him too. 😡

So on this occasion, in this context, I'm glad that they at least did a good intro.

On Saturday I went to the Majority AGM and Conference in Newcastle's Discovery Museum. #JamieDriscoll was elected as leader. There were presentations on what has been achieved over the last year and what the next year and beyond would look like.
#ZarahSultana was on stage and gave a good speech, she also took part in a Q&A session. I can see why she left #LINO and is looking to form a new party with #JeremyCorbyn.

Majority is a small organisation that has it's roots in Jamie's independent campaign to become the North East England mayor.

This article in the Guardian references Zarah and the conference
