Today, I happen to meet people and projects that I got to know live via Zoom during the lockdowns. I suddenly realise what a rich time that was in terms of #learning and #opening up to previously unknown #ideas. A time when I was able to #focus and pursue projects in a tranquil environment without distractions. Such precious #inspirations! This lack of #noise in every respect!

That's why authoritarian systems make so much noise about nothing. They want to distract you from the important.

This is consistent with most evidence I've seen on #AI and #learning.

Our primary jobs as educators is to help students learn to think critically and tackle difficult challenges. That's how we grow as students, and as people.

But students tend to use AI to avoid doing these hard, uncomfortable things, which has been termed by some as "cognitive laziness".
