Likely Jan Lukas<p>I've played around with using <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/mylar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mylar</span></a> to create <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/LightTubes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LightTubes</span></a>, <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/prisms" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>prisms</span></a> and <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/mirrors" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mirrors</span></a> and other <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/reflective" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>reflective</span></a> surfaces to change or shape light direction and spread, <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/Fresnell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Fresnell</span></a> lenses to magnify small amounts of light, etc etc etc.</p><p>I've learned lots of interesting things but I am still a LONG way from being hired to light the interior of a <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/pyramid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pyramid</span></a>. 😀</p><p>15/x</p>
Nelson<p>Hm, I cannot find evidence from web searches that anyone has ever installed a solar tube in a former chimney / exhaust pipe. Is this a stupid idea?</p><p>I saw one page claiming that solar tubes work better if they are less than 25 feet long. Does the extra length running a solar tube from the chimney to the basement make this a bad idea? Could this be offset by using a rigid tube, rather than a flexible one?</p><p><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_tube" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_tu</span><span class="invisible">be</span></a></p><p><a href="https://jawns.club/tags/solarTubes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>solarTubes</span></a> <a href="https://jawns.club/tags/lightTubes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>lightTubes</span></a> <a href="https://jawns.club/tags/sunTunnels" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sunTunnels</span></a> <a href="https://jawns.club/tags/tubularSkylights" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tubularSkylights</span></a> <a href="https://jawns.club/tags/lightPipes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>lightPipes</span></a></p>
