Aptivi<p><strong>Rocky Linux 10, based on RHEL 10,&nbsp;released</strong></p><p>Following the release of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 and the AlmaLinux 10, yet another Red Hat-based Linux derivative distro, Rocky Linux, has just released a new version that is compatible with the tenth major version of RHEL. This sets a huge milestone for just another community version of the RHEL distribution. You can download this version of Rocky Linux here.</p> <a class="" href="https://rockylinux.org/news/rocky-linux-10-0-ga-release" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Download now</a> <p>Rocky Linux 10, just like RHEL 10, requires the x86_64-v3 processor in order to run on modern computers. This is unlike AlmaLinux 10 that needed at least the x86_64-v2 processor. Also, Rocky Linux 10 no longer ships the 32-bit packages, which means that you will no longer to run 32-bit applications.</p><p>For the desktop environment, this version of Rocky Linux now uses the Wayland server exclusively instead of the legacy X11 protocol. However, some of the applications that have not yet been ported to Wayland can now run using the Xwayland protocol.</p><p>This version of Rocky Linux now supports the RISC-V architecture for users with such processor architecture. This is to make sure that computers that use a RISC-V processor be able to use Rocky Linux for the first time, expanding hardware support to the broader audience.</p><p>The following architectures are supported:</p><ul><li><strong>64-bit AMD/Intel x86-64-v3 (x86_64)</strong></li><li><strong>64-bit RISC-V (riscv64)</strong></li><li>64-bit ARMv8.0-A (aarch64)</li><li>IBM POWER, little endian (ppc64le)</li><li>IBM z (s390x)</li></ul><p>The following common packages have been updated:</p><ul><li>Dynamic programming languages, web, and database servers<ul><li>PHP 8.3</li><li>Python 3.12</li><li>nginx 1.26</li><li>PostgreSQL 16.8</li><li>MySQL 8.4</li><li>Valkey 8.0</li><li>MariaDB 10.11</li></ul></li><li>Performance tools and debuggers<ul><li>GDB 14.2</li><li>Valgrind 3.23.0</li><li>SystemTap 5.1</li><li>Dyninst 12.3.0</li><li>elfutils 0.192</li><li>libabigail 2.6</li></ul></li><li>Performance monitoring tools<ul><li>Performance Co-pilot 6.3.0</li><li>Grafana 10.2.6</li></ul></li><li>Compiler toolsets<ul><li>LLVM Toolset 19.1.7</li><li>Rust Toolset 1.84.1</li><li>Go Toolset 1.23</li></ul></li></ul><p><strong>Download Rocky Linux 10 to improve your user experience!</strong></p><p><span></span></p><p><a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/linux/" target="_blank">#Linux</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/linux-distro/" target="_blank">#LinuxDistro</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/news/" target="_blank">#news</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/red-hat/" target="_blank">#redHat</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/red-hat-enterprise/" target="_blank">#RedHatEnterprise</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/red-hat-enterprise-linux/" target="_blank">#RedHatEnterpriseLinux</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/rhel/" target="_blank">#RHEL</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/rhel-10/" target="_blank">#RHEL10</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/rocky/" target="_blank">#Rocky</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/rocky-linux/" target="_blank">#RockyLinux</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/rocky-linux-10/" target="_blank">#RockyLinux10</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/tech/" target="_blank">#Tech</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/technology/" target="_blank">#Technology</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/update/" target="_blank">#update</a></p>

Aptivi<p><strong>AlmaLinux 10 follows RHEL&nbsp;10!</strong></p><p>Following the release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, AlmaLinux have followed the lead by releasing the newer version based on that version of RHEL, called AlmaLinux 10 “Purple Lion.” It utilizes the infrastructure of Red Hat Enterprise Linux to give you a popular community Linux OS alternative. Now, AlmaLinux is more secure and powerful with the latest packages on the way.</p><p>Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 requires your processor to be at the x86_64-v3 baseline, but AlmaLinux 10 doesn’t seem to require this baseline. Those who have an old PC with at least an x86_64-v2 processor can use AlmaLinux 10.</p><p>AlmaLinux 10 is fully compatible with RHEL 10, which is good news. Additionally, ARM computers can now enjoy UEFI Secure Boot, which makes your computer more secure. You can still use SPICE in this version of AlmaLinux, despite RHEL 9 deprecating it.</p><p>For developers, you can now use AlmaLinux 10 with frame pointers to improve your software development experience, especially when it comes to application debugging and diagnosis. You can now profile the application performance in real time to find performance bottlenecks in any workload.</p><p>More devices have been supported in AlmaLinux 10, which went unsupported in RHEL 10. Anyone with such devices can now use this version of AlmaLinux to continue using those devices.</p><p>Are you excited for AlmaLinux 10? Download it now!</p> <a class="" href="https://almalinux.org/get-almalinux" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Download</a> <a class="" href="https://almalinux.org/blog/2025-05-27-welcoming-almalinux-10/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Announcement</a> <a class="" href="https://wiki.almalinux.org/release-notes/10.0.html" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Release Notes</a> <p><span></span></p><p><a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/alma-linux/" target="_blank">#AlmaLinux</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/almalinux/" target="_blank">#AlmaLinux</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/linux/" target="_blank">#Linux</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/linux-distro/" target="_blank">#LinuxDistro</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/news/" target="_blank">#news</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/red-hat/" target="_blank">#redHat</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/rhel/" target="_blank">#RHEL</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/tech/" target="_blank">#Tech</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/technology/" target="_blank">#Technology</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/update/" target="_blank">#update</a></p>

Aptivi<p><strong>Ubuntu 25.10 Questing Quokka will improve your desktop&nbsp;experience</strong></p><p>Last month, Ubuntu 25.10 development had started by updating the Ubuntu repository servers to serve new information for this upcoming version of Ubuntu, which is the final interim release before the next Long Term Support (LTS) release, which will be Ubuntu 26.04 LTS RR. The roadmap has been finally shared on the <a href="https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/ubuntu-desktop-25-10-the-questing-quokka-roadmap/61159" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Ubuntu Discourse</a> forums to let you know about how this version of Ubuntu will progress.</p><p>According to the roadmap, the following key features of Ubuntu 25.10 (our curation) will be:</p><ul><li><strong>Desktop Experience</strong><ul><li><strong>GNOME 49</strong> will land to this version of Ubuntu to bring in some of Wayland-related improvements, especially when you’re on a computer that uses NVIDIA graphics cards, the latest being <a href="https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/graphics-cards/50-series/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50xx</a> series.</li><li><a href="https://apps.gnome.org/Loupe/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><strong>Loupe</strong></a> will be used by default as a new image editor that will streamline your user experience. Meanwhile, a new terminal emulator, <a href="https://gitlab.gnome.org/chergert/ptyxis" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><strong>Ptyxis (or GNOME Prompt)</strong></a>, will be used in lieu of the older GNOME Terminal, all under the GNOME umbrella.</li><li>If you are gaming on Ubuntu, the <strong>Variable Refresh Rate (VRR)</strong> feature has been added to Mutter to improve your gaming performance on compatible monitors, such as the latest <a href="https://www.samsung.com/us/monitors/odyssey-gaming-monitor/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Samsung Odyssey</a> gaming monitors.</li><li><strong>RISC-V</strong> users will be able to experience the full Ubuntu Desktop for the first time, especially as this processor architecture gains in popularity. Basic applications, such as Mozilla Firefox, will be usable there.</li></ul></li><li><strong>TPM-backed FDE</strong><ul><li><strong>Full disk encryption</strong> will be backed by your TPM chip that is either discrete or integrated, especially when you’re using TPM 2.0. The recovery key management will be available to you, where you’ll be able to view, save, and print your recovery key during the installation stage. You can regenerate the key later, in case you lost it. You will be able to use your PIN.</li><li>In addition to that, <strong>firmware updates</strong>, especially the BIOS ones, may trigger a “hardware change” detection mechanism, which will cause your system to prompt you for your recovery key to unlock your hard drive again. Taking this into account, the firmware updater will give you a warning message when you proceed to upgrade the firmware. BIOS updates will only be done if you’ve enabled UEFI capsule and you’re booting Ubuntu in UEFI mode.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Ubuntu Desktop Documentation</strong><ul><li>Starting from this version of Ubuntu, the <strong>documentation will be refined</strong> to diverge from the traditional and hard-to-follow generic documentation to the more refined docs to allow end users to learn more about the Ubuntu Desktop more efficiently.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Accessibility</strong><ul><li>While accessibility remains a core part of Ubuntu’s mission, the Ubuntu team is preparing to follow all the rules by the deadline of the <strong><a href="https://commission.europa.eu/strategy-and-policy/policies/justice-and-fundamental-rights/disability/union-equality-strategy-rights-persons-disabilities-2021-2030/european-accessibility-act_en" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">European Accessibility Act (EAA)</a></strong> enforcement, which will be in June 2025.</li><li><strong>Accessibility features</strong> will be improved to make sure that everyone will be able to use the Ubuntu desktop.</li></ul></li></ul><p>The release timeline will be as follows:</p><ul><li><strong>Feature Freeze</strong>: August 14, 2025</li><li><strong>User Interface Freeze</strong>: September 4, 2025</li><li><strong>Beta Release</strong>: September 18, 2025</li><li><strong>Final Release</strong>: October 9, 2025</li></ul><p>Stay tuned for more Ubuntu updates!</p><p><a href="https://www.freepik.com/free-photo/attractive-stylish-smiling-woman-glasses-working-typing-laptop_17247733.htm#fromView=search&amp;page=2&amp;position=25&amp;uuid=16ab55d4-5ca6-42f4-9bcb-cbf5fb59cc26" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Image by marymarkevich on Freepik</a></p><p><span></span></p><p><a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/25-10/" target="_blank">#2510</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/linux/" target="_blank">#Linux</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/linux-distro/" target="_blank">#LinuxDistro</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/news/" target="_blank">#news</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/questing/" target="_blank">#Questing</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/questing-quokka/" target="_blank">#QuestingQuokka</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/quokka/" target="_blank">#Quokka</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/tech/" target="_blank">#Tech</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/technology/" target="_blank">#Technology</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/ubuntu/" target="_blank">#Ubuntu</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/ubuntu-25-10/" target="_blank">#Ubuntu2510</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/ubuntu-25-10-questing/" target="_blank">#Ubuntu2510Questing</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/ubuntu-25-10-questing-quokka/" target="_blank">#Ubuntu2510QuestingQuokka</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/ubuntu-25-10-quokka/" target="_blank">#Ubuntu2510Quokka</a></p>
