Also also, this is my 1st time winning a book award (yeah I’ve had some prior 3rd places & made a few finalist lists, but never won before), so to have this book of my
win the socially conscious category, and that it’s about physician mental health & the hidden curriculum & exposing & overcoming toxic secrecy culture & the terrible things young doctors go through, but also the *why* of it, and that someone saw all this in it & it meant something to them too, well, that means the world to me, and even as I constantly struggle to avoid the trap of the need for external validation, I am grateful
