Both phenomena occur around 100 km up but stem from different sources: auroras from charged particles, meteors from cosmic dust. Wulfy<p>I saw a beautiful <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/meteor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>meteor</span></a> last night. A part of the <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/Aquariids" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Aquariids</span></a> shower.</p><p>It appeared as a bright light, right on the airport flight approach. At first I thought it was a <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/UAP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>UAP</span></a> because it was burning bright orange (classic Orb). But then I saw it traverse at least ~5 degrees of the sky on a descent trajectory. It developed tail, started burning green and just as I was about to pull out my phone (it was up that long) it splashed in a splosh of orange fragments and disappeared.<br>Pretty.</p><p>Then when I got home, I saw another orange burst, but it was with a corner of my eye, and by the time I turned my head, the show was over.</p>

GEOMAR<p>Visit of the President of the Republic of Cabo Verde on board RV METEOR 🚢🌊 </p><p>The President of the Republic of Cabo Verde, His Excellency José Maria Pereira Neves, visited the research team of the <a href="https://helmholtz.social/tags/M209" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>M209</span></a> expedition last weekend.
