Metaphysical Shitposting continues to grow and evolve! Just in time for Xmas, I've added a little seasonal gem about my love for #psychedelic journeys around Christmas time. It's called "I Always Love Tripping at Xmas" and, if you were planning to chew up some blotter and stare at the twinkly lights, it's a perfect soundtrack!

It's an all #modular track based around mutilating a "sleigh bell" sample in the #Morphagene. It's real trippy! Enjoy!

Update: Still codes available!

Here (meaning in the following, threaded post) are a bunch o' codes for my #experimental #album The Alchemical Practice of Modular Synthesis. This one is W I L D! From the barely-harnessed chaos of the #benjolin to the #hypnotic murmurations of the human #voice filtered through the #Morphagene, these 4 tracks are weird, challenging and trrrrrippy!

Sound intriguing? Give it a listen, and if you like it, grab one of these codes! #FREE

Trying to get back on track with my #PatchOfTheWeek series, so here's patch No. 21, where I play with the notion of what "stereo" means in the context of #Morphagene. Plus a bonus appearance by the #Panharmonium, in the process of making that Morphagene reel. Hope you enjoy it, find some new knowledge, or both.

Soundwise it's just #Benjolin and #reverb (possibly some delay but I honestly do not recall for sure; would have been #Morphagene). Reverb was #DesmodusVersio from #NoiseEngineering. I don't think I even did much self patching of the Benjolin, I was just playing the knobs and having fun. I love that thing.

The final key element I haven't mentioned is a #Morphagene based #ModularPatch that I used to create a performance of an old #FieldRecording I made of some kids on a tire swing. It blended in amazingly well with the wild vocal pad-meets-didgeridoo sounds that most of the track hinges on.

There's also a collection of the weirder sounds a #Korg #VolcaDrum makes in here -- all manner of weird squidges, burbles and blaps. Those and the Alpha Juno stuff came during the production phase, on the respective #InstrumentDays. The rest of this is all samples, some treated by the #Morphagene.

But the final finishing touch for this one came from the #Morphagene. Well, the Morphagene run into the #QPAS and #Mimeophon, then topped off by the #DesmodusVersio #reverb. A special reel of more weird human sounds I made that played forward on one side and reverse on the other got good and Morphagened up. That got sliced into a bank's worth of samples (16) and those samples finished the track -' it's all that whooshy uncanny valley stuff.

I did have two more quasi #InstrumentDays. One day with a couple of #Morphagene patches that absolutely pushed two tracks over the finish line almost single handedly, and a #SamplingDay where I finally went through one side of the #SamplingTape I made in #PreProduction and added #samples to multiple tracks. Those samples were the finishing touch for at least one of those tracks and it was nice to know the effort had been worth it.

For #sample prep I #organized a few directories, went through old samples looking for stuff I thought I could use, and spent a night sampling #vinyl #manipluation and impacts, plus the actual content of some hilariously shitty records, onto a cassette tape for easy sampling later. I edited a couple #Morphagene reels in Audacity, moved copies of everything to the #MPC and that was it, samplewise, since my core libraries already live on the MPC.
