Lights changed, off we go, &amp; he takes off! I was impressed. I'm used to EV performance, but vans have no right to get going like that 🤯😂</p>

When I last went to start it, ruh-roh, no go, error codes, &amp; the dreaded check engine light. 😭</p><p>Got that checked today Errors cleared. Low voltage (duh). New battery &amp; all's well.</p><p>Now to do more riding. My head's in a better space now, so with any luck, &amp; a lot less procrastination, it will happen. I can't blame the bike anymore! We rode to the nearest bike dealer with a decent selection in their accessories shop, about 45 minutes each way so wife could pick out summer-weight gloves for herself. Stopped at Dunkin on the way for breakfast. Traffic wasn't terrible, and neither was my clutch work, though I imagine totally smooth shifting in stop-and-go traffic takes lots and lots of practice.</p>

There was plenty of space to go between the cars—no big bike either. I was confused why they didn't take advantage of their privilege to ride between the cars.</p>

I like bikes, seems like there are not enough of them, rates seem to be going up.</p><p>I mean it’s a skilled job that does not require working for a corporation but it’s an option if you want to work in a corporate shop, union shop, or indie shop.</p><p>Dress code fits my wardrobe.</p><p>Seems like a good idea at 51.</p>

Reported it as a flat front tire, which was alarming! </p><p>Turns out they are battery powered with sealed-in batteries. 🤦 And genuine replacement parts are ~$50 each, or ~$25 aftermarket… plus a $400 tool to program the bike to recognize them. 🤬 Or roughly $400 to have the dealer replace them. 🤬</p><p>So… hack job here I come! …as soon as I get home.</p>

Brutal 2 hours of BS traffic and dumb cars.</p><p>I made it home, in one piece, road worn, sun burnt a bit, sore, but smiling. </p><p>Total miles rode was 944 miles / 1520 kilometers over 5 days and only hit 2 states 🤣. The west is big.</p><p>Personally I feel this was my most successful ride but not my longest.</p><p>Unpack, shower, pets, and girlfriend time. Rise and shine campers we got miles to throw down. Got to roll west today. Back home over the big hill. 300 miles give or take.

Gonna pack up and get on the road. Hopefully beat the wind on the plateau. Going to take it easy going home. I have all day so unlike normal I don’t have to push.

Not gonna lie, I am sore today, I think there will be more than a couple stops today to stretch. I am also going to try to get to the Pass early so I am not jammed up in weekend traffic.

I will try to keep the rubber side down.

Oh and what kind adventure would it be if I didn’t have some kind of issue! Had a butt splice repair at the campground with a leatherman.
